About
Yes! You Can Sing is a festival of singing for everyone produced by Music Kin CIC. We believe singing is your birth-right, and if you can speak you can sing. Our festival workshops will gently lead you with compassion to open up and celebrate your natural voice, which is as unique to you as your fingerprints. We ultimately invite you to join your voice with others and awaken a new passion and joy for the powerfully, life-enhancing shared-experience of group singing.
Over one weekend of 2nd & 3rd March we have workshops to suit everyone from Valerie Whitworth's 'Free your Voice, Free yourself' to Una McCann's 'Songs with Soul' workshop where you will learn songs from different traditions including classical, pop and soul to Lorna McLaughlin's (The Henry Girls) workshop 'Exploring your Natural voice through an Irish Song'.
For children Victoria Geelan will lead 'Little Voices' specifically focussed on 4-7 year olds whilst Anna Nolan & Maeve Leahy from 'Singing Mamas Derry' will lead a session of singing for maternal wellbeing (babies welcome).
The weekend culminates in 'Yes! We Can All Sing Together' an open singing event for the whole community and chance to make a great big joyous sound together led by local renowned choral director and conductor Maurice Kelly.
All workshops are very reasonably priced only £5 each and there is a discounted festival pass available if you want to attend 3 events plus the 'Yes! We Can Sing Together' finale event. Also those who book tickets for events before the 23rd February will get an automatic ticket to the 'Yes! We Can Sing Together' Finale.
