Echo Echo Ensemble present TRIPLE BILL of ORIGINAL WORKS
- FRACTALS
Fractals is a piece for 5 dancers that delves into the weird and wonderful way in which the subconscious mind intertwines with the conscious mind. Exploring images, ideas, emotions and sensations that have stirred the soul while dreaming.
“This is a wonderful piece with the stillness and nobility of a Grecian play where figures move on a meniscus of silence, graceful, eternal and unearthly” (Audience member)
Fractals will be performed by Echo Echo Ensemble members: Ayesha Mailey, Tonya Sheina, Zoe Ramsey, Esther Alleyne and Kelly Quigley.
- SEE ME DISAPPEAR
The dance is constantly vanishing. You can’t grasp it or hold it. You are left with the memory, the resonance, and the energised space.
Using physical states of being to trigger embodied memory and imagination Ayesha Mailey aims to embrace the mystery of Instantaneous Composition while making poetic sense.
The solo piece performed by ensemble member, Ayesha Mailey, premiered at the ‘Going Solo Together’ Festival in Orebro, 2016. Ayesha is currently developing the piece to a full length work. She will share sections of the process to a Martin Mutter Theatre audience as part of the Echo Echo Ensemble programme of work.
- HERE AND NOW, WE DANCE
Each dancer brings their embodied memory and imagination to this improvisation piece and allows themselves to be changed by their relationships with each other in real time and space. Exploring the ebb and flow of these relationships and the dynamics of solos, duets, trios and group interactions, the Echo Echo Ensemble will instantaneously compose this poetic movement piece in the moment of performance.
