Programme
Sunday 22nd March at the Lyric Theatre, Belfast
An exciting day featuring 3 of NI’s most exciting choreographers: Gary Rowntree, Ayesha Mailey and Eileen McClory.
Togetherness – Choreographed by Gary Rowntree [TICKETS]
Togetherness was initially created in 2019 in response to the political climate in Northern Ireland regarding marriage equality. Two men dance, their hands grasp as they absorb the weight of the onlookers’ scrutiny. Witness their intimacy, vulnerability and turmoil as they journey to stand together.
See Me Disappear – Choreographed by Ayesha Mailey [TICKETS]
As the performer journeys through her forest of memory and imagination stories of hiding, invisibility and a conflicting desire to been seen and not seen emerge through movement, theatre and visual projections.
CUCK – Choreographed by Eileen McClory [TICKETS]
CUCK is an entertaining, intimate and intensely raw dance piece about power, relationships and crossed boundaries. It explores the human condition at its most fragile. On the back of #metoo and in a society where abuses of power are coming to the fore, this multi-layered work raises questions of the political ego and the erosion of basic human decency.
