Dance Picnic

Have you ever been to an Echo Echo workshop or class?

Does your child dance with Echo Echo?

Are you a member of Daring Feet Youth Dance?

Maybe you've never danced before?

----------

Whoever you are, Dance Picnic is an opportunity for everyone - not just kids but all ages, abilities and experience - to join together and have a wonderful time dancing for an afternoon. Bring along cakes, salads or sandwiches to share and enjoy the Dance Picnic.

----------

The idea of the Dance Picnic stems from the company's busy education programme which regularly sees parents, toddlers, children, young adults, elderly and people with disabilities dancing. Co-Artistic Director, Steve Batts wanted to see these groups come together and enjoy dance and movement as a group.

This event is a chance to participate in some dancing and movement games within an open space where people can join in when they wish. You can come alone or bring a friend or family member - everyone is welcome.

With so many workshops aimed at certain sections of society, Echo Echo would like to remove the barriers between these groups and have everyone participate together in an informal and enjoyable environment.

A previous picnicker said: "I loved the Dance Picnic. It was surprisingly good fun to take part in the movement games. As an adult, I always assume games are for the children but it was extremely freeing and thoroughly enjoyable to dance with everyone."

The Dance Picnics have become a regular event in Echo Echo's programme and with between 30 - 50 people turning up, it has become one of the most popular too!
