Sunday Session on 1st March
The Sunday Session is held on the first Sunday of each month in Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company's Dance Studio, Waterside Theatre.
Sunday 1st March @ 7pm
In Echo Echo Dance Studio
The event is a cutting edge, uncensored open space for local performers to share new short pieces and improvisations of dance, poetry, performance, singing, voice, music, movement, action theatre, comedy, clowning, or a concoction in an informal and supportive environment.
In past sessions, audiences have enjoyed the indomitable talent of James King and Caroline Gallagher, poetry from Ellen Factor, song from Victoria Geelan and dance from Echo Echo and local university students amongst many other acts.
The experience of a Sunday Session is provocative, inspiring, and definitely enjoyable.
If you have never been to a Sunday Session but would like to maybe take part in the future just come as an audience member and enjoy the unique and surprising variety of this month's programme.
Audience members pay £3 admission but performers go free.

Authentic TANGO course with Leilani Weis
Introduction to Authentic Tango
With Leilani Weis from Chile
4-week course
Starting Wednesday 11th February
7.30pm- 9pm
Course Cost: £20
Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company is offering an exciting and rare opportunity to participate in a one-off course in Authentic Tango with guest teacher Leilani Weis from Chile.
Leilani Weis teaches, experiments and performs Contact Improvisation and Tango. She brings a special fire and sensuality to her dancing and applies the open and free improvisatory attitude of Contact Improvisation to her Tango dancing and Tango teaching.
This course will be an introduction to authentic Tango. The emphasis will be on understanding the "feel" of the dance rather than trying to learn lots of complicated steps. The workshop is open to anyone but will be especially interesting for people with some movement experience in Salsa, modern dance, Contact Improvisation, ballroom dance.
Leilani will be in Derry for two months while she rehearses with the company for new production, Ripple Affect, due to tour in March this year.
During a short visit in October last year, Leilani taught a 2-hour workshop in the Echo Echo Dance Studio. The class was fully booked within a day and she received some flattering comments such as:
"We shall all have to go and lie down in front of the airplane to stop her leaving Northern Ireland"
"More Leilani Weis style tango please!"
The wait is over... An Introduction to Authentic Tango will start on Wednesday 11th February and run for 4 weeks in Echo Echo's dance studio at the Waterside Theatre from 7.30pm to 9pm. The full course costs £20.
The course is sure to be popular so people are encouraged to book as early as possible. To book a place, contact Echo Echo on 028 7134 2266 or email info@echoechodance.com
