8-12 years / 11.30am- 1pm / £20 for full week
12+ years / 2pm- 5pm / £30 for full week
The summer sun has arrived and it's time to think about holidays and summer fun. With only a few weeks left before school ends, Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company have announced its July summer scheme for ages 5 and over.
Starting on Monday 6th July, the local dance company will be offering a week of dance and movement classes for 3 different age groups- 5 to 7 years, 8 to 12 years and 12s and over. The schemes are the perfect opportunity to ease your children and teens into their summer break.
Local professional dancers from Echo Echo will teach the classes in the company's dance studio in the Waterside Theatre, which has accessible and free parking on site.
The summer schemes are open to boys and girls of all abilities and there is no need for any previous dance experience. The creative classes are all about learning to move and making new friends.
The kids are sure to enjoy the fun and vibrant classes, which will encourage their imaginations and teach them some choreography to use in a performance on the last day for family and friends.
The 5-7 year group is from 10am to 11am each morning and costs £15 for the full week. This group will focus on movement games and using imagination to create their own dance sequences.
The 8-12 year group starts at 11.30am and runs until 1pm costing £20. This slightly longer class for older primary ages is an exciting opportunity to learn some choreography, technique and also play movement games.
Finally, the 12+ group begins at 2pm and is three hours long. This session is for teenagers interested in dance and performance when they will work on choreography, improvisation and technique. This week-long course costs £30.
All of the summer schemes are held in the Echo Echo Dance Studio and the company is offering a range of family discounts and bursaries to participants.
The Echo Echo summer courses are always popular so you are advised to book early. If you would like to book a place or get some more information, contact Echo Echo on 7134 2266 or email info[at]echoechodance.com
