Media Release: Echo Echo Dance launch 2012 events programme

Northern Ireland's leading dance company and Derry based, Echo Echo Dance Theatre Company is launching its new programme of classes for Winter to Spring 2012.

The professional dance company will offer weekly classes for all ages and abilities, from parent and toddler to adult and older people, starting 13th January.

Echo Echo has taught thousands of participants in the past and encourages anyone interested in dance or movement to come along and join in- no matter what their experience or ability level.

The New Year programme includes courses for parent and toddlers, primary children, and teenagers. It also offers introductory classes for adults, meditation, and classes in one of the company's key movement styles- Contact Improvisation.

Echo Echo will offer a few favourite events that have grown in popularity such as the ‘Dance Picnic', which can attract over 50 people.

A new addition to the events programme are the lunchtime performances which will take place once a month on a Thursday at 1.30pm. Come and spend 20 minutes of your lunch hour captivated by movement, Echo Echo will even provide some tea and cake!

Echo Echo Development Officer, Sarah Bryden said: "This programme of education and performance is probably our busiest yet, the company is going from strength to strength and 2012 is a testament to that.

"The company's ensemble of dancers is expanding, bringing in local emerging talent who are passionate about movement practice."
